As quickly as a semester begins, it ends before we know it. Each semester, students have numerous personal goals in mind, but sometimes those goals never come to fruition. If your Fall semester goals just fell short of success, don’t worry. The Spring semester will be here before we know it so it is never too late to start thinking about your goals and how you will accomplish them when we all begin a whole new slate of classes on January 7th. Here is a list of some common goals that usually aren’t completed with a suggestion or two of how to make them happen come Spring:
1. Internship- The Fall interview process came and went in what seemed to be a matter of a few weeks. If you think you missed out on your dream internship for Summer or even Spring, don’t worry, there will be another career fair in January with many recruiters visiting again. Also, it never hurts to be proactive during Winter break as some positions will become available.
2. Get in Shape- Couldn’t find the time to make it to the SRC? Good news! It is open now and will be open in the Spring…7 days a week. Get a friend to go with you and I guarantee that the first day is the worst, but after that you will set a routineĀ and it is smooth sailing!
3. Resume Prep- Still haven’t worked on your resume? Visit the Business Career Center in BA 170 and they will be happy to help you out with your resume and any other career related questions. It never hurts to get on top of this early on in your ASU career because it will definitely prepare you well for your future.
4. Sun Devil Athletics- You wear the Maroon and Gold swag, but why haven’t you gone to a game yet? Luckily, Spring sports are very popular at ASU. Basketball season will be in full swing until March…I highly recommend you go to a game (we are currently 5-1). Baseball will begin play along with Softball…these are a must do as the Devils are always ranked in the top half of the Top 25. GOOO DEVILS!
